A valuable Recipe for Pulmonary and other Consumptions, also a Drink for the Breast, a wonderful Beverage.
Speedwell (veronica), scabiosas, magwort, a handful of hyssop, sage, acremening, bethunia, blue violets, hair of a handful; five ounces sweet angelica, alantis roots, licorice root, waywort, aniseed, licorice juice, rhubarb, senna, of these articles four ounces; of caraway seed and field fennel, two ounces. The dried herbs as well as the roots, must be cut fine and pounded; then pour a good quart of pure spring water over it, let it remain standing over night, then put it in a new covered pot, boil down one-half of its volume, and it will be all right and ready for use.
