From Egyptian Secrets of Albertus Magnus, Joseph H. Peterson edition:
For the Jaundice.
Take a large white onion, cut the herbage therefrom, bore a hole into the bulb, put a piece of the size of a nut of teriak therein, also one ounce of powdered saffron, mix all well together and put it into the onion, and boil carefully over a fire so as not to burn it. After having boiled sufficiently long, put it in a linen cloth, press the juice well out of it. Give this to the patient mornings before breakfast to drink. It will surely cure.
